- STAY INFORMED ABOUT THE LOCAL COVID-19 SITUATION
- Check relevant websites and news sources daily for up-to-date information and instructions regarding the virus.
- ALL STAFF MUST SELF-MONITOR FOR SYMPTOMS AND USE THE SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOL:

- ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROLS

- Staff at Burnaby Neuromuscular Massage Therapy Clinic will be required to stay home if sick or symptomatic in any way.
- Staff will be provided with up-to-date information and training on COVID-19 risk factors.
- Staff will participate and sign a self-monitoring health sheet.
- Mandatory wearing of facemasks for all employees and staff during treatment sessions.
- Clients are required to wear a mask upon entering the clinic if arriving without a mask they will be given a disposable face mask level1.

- Limit client access to certain workplace areas, where appropriate.
- Maintain a minimum of two metres in the waiting area and common area of the clinic.
- Clients will be required to sign the Covid-19 patient intake consent form.

- CREATE SIGNAGE POSTINGS OUTSIDE OF CLINIC REGARDING POLICIES FOR ADMITTANCE

- PROVIDE SANITATION STATIONS THROUGHOUT CLINIC THAT INCLUDE:
- Soap and Water, Lysol Wipes, Hand Sanitizer, No Touch Trash Cans
- PHONE SCREENING TO ENSURE PATIENTS:
- Have no recent history of travel
- Have no underlying health issues
- Have no contact with anyone suspected of carrying the virus
- Have no illness or symptoms consistent with COVID-19
- RELAXED CANCELLATION POLICY
When booking or conforming appointments, clients should be reminded to reschedule if they become sick or develop symptoms
- Ensure clients do not feel pressured to attend appointments for fear of being charged a late cancellation fee.
- HANDLING PAYMENTS
Limit contact by allowing clients to scan/tap/swipe their own cards.
- Employees to practice proper hand hygiene with alcohol-based sanitizers after handling cash or credit cards.
- Pin Pad sanitized after every touch.
- PERFORM ROUTINE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANING
- Routinely clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces, such as work stations, countertops, pin pads, and doorknobs.
- Discourage sharing of work supplies and phone equipment if feasible.
- Use of alcohol-based cleaning solutions to clean hard surfaces, treatment tables, door knobs etc.
- Practitioners must practice effective hand hygiene at the beginning and end of their shift, before and after seeing clients, and performing clinic tasks.
- WASHING SHEETS AND TOWELS
- Sheets and towels will be laundered and dried on the highest temperature setting possible. Ensure items are thoroughly dried.
- PROVIDE EDUCATION AND TRAINING MATERIALS IN AN EASY TO UNDERSTAND FORMAT AND APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE FOR ALL STAFF AND VISITORS.
- Fact sheets and posters will be posted in the waiting room and throughout the clinic.
- IMPLEMENT PRACTICES TO MINIMIZE CLOSE CONTACT BETWEEN STAFF
- Practitioners working staggered shifts.
- Assign each practitioner a dedicated work area.
- Staff room arranged to follow physical distancing
- Schedule staggered break times to limit the number of staff in one area.
- STAGGER CLIENT APPOINTMENTS TO MINIMIZE CHANCE OF CONTACT BETWEEN PATIENTS
- ADEQUATE BREAKS BETWEEN BOOKINGS TO THOROUGHLY SANITIZE TREATMENT TABLES, HIGH TOUCH SURFACES AND EQUIPMENT.-Allows for each client to proceed straight to the treatment room without waiting or touching any surfaces.
IF A STAFF MEMBER BECOMES ILL AT WORK
The staff member will be separated from other employees, clients, and visitors and sent home immediately.
- CDC guidelines on “Cleaning and Disinfection after Persons Suspected/Confirmed to Have COVID-19 Have Been in the Facility” will then be implemented.
- Staff members patients will be contacted.
Cleaning and Disinfection After Persons Suspected/Confirmed to Have COVID-19 Have Been in the Facility or Building
- Close off areas visited by the ill person and inform the Head of Building Maintenance.
- Cleaning staff will clean and disinfect all areas such as offices, bathrooms, common areas, shared electronic equipment [pin pad] used by the ill person.
- Follow instructions from the Head of Building Maintenance which may include ceasing operations for the days or days required.
HOW TO CLEAN AND DISINFECT
HARD [Non-Porous] SURFACES
- If the surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using soap and water prior to disinfectant.
- Disinfect using a 70 percent [minimum] alcohol solution.
ELECTRONICS
- For electronics such as keyboards and point of sale pin pads, and phones use alcohol-based wipes, or sprays to disinfect.
LAUNDRY
- Laundry is to be placed in a bag located in each room immediately after use, washed each night, and dried thoroughly before returning to use at the clinic.
- Clean the laundry bag each night as well.
- Wash hands after handling laundry.
BUILDING CLEANING

- The building is cleaned daily in the evening including common areas, bathrooms, and each office/clinic space.
- Cleaning staff are trained to disinfect all surfaces and areas within the building.
- Building Head of Maintenance has the cleaning staff perform a SUPER CLEAN every weekend to sterilize the entire building.
